EA has announced that they’ll release a brand new title in the sports genre next year (between April 2020 and March 2021). This is outside of their regular release schedule of FIFA/NFL/NHL.
As a proud Australian, one can only hope that it’s either Cricket or Aussie Rules, sports that EA have worked on in the past. I’d also be a little bit hopeful of a new Tennis game, although Grand Slam Tennis wasn’t the best in of Tennis games that have come in the past 10 years.
It’ll probably be a few months before we hear anymore about this title, but it’s interesting to see EA branching out above their staple sporting franchises.
Just to add some clarity. The statement in the original tweet regarding EA Sports refers to additional sports titles on top of FIFA/NFL/NHL.
The plan is to launch at least one of these new titles next year. Could see the return of classic titles like Golf, Cricket etc…
