Avowed’s Game Director Is Leaving Obsidian After 12 Years

She's going to Night School!

After a stint of twelve years with the studio, Carrie Patel has announced her departure from Obsidian Entertainment. This year, the studio launched Avowed under Patel’s leadership, however she’s said to be taking on a directorial role at the Netflix owned Night School Studios.

Night School Studios is, of course, behind games Oxenfree, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, and Afterparty. The studio was acquired by streaming giant Netflix back in 2021.

Press Start reviewed Avowed favourably at release earlier this year, and the game ended up amassing a player base of 6 million within its opening month, however that would factor in Game s across its available platforms.
