Cyberpunk 2077 Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay footage running in 4K has been released online, showing off the handheld device’s impressive power. The video, which runs for nearly 20 minutes, claims to show the game running in Quality/Max Graphics mode, presumably trading off higher framerates for increased fidelity.
Given that the game famously struggled to run on a range of hardware at launch, it is breathtaking to see it running smoothly and looking fantastic on Nintendo’s soon-to-be-released console. Granted, many steps have been taken over numerous fixes and patches to improve optimisation of the game, which was verified for the Steam Deck not long ago.
After its announcement at the full unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2, it was revealed that using NVIDIA’s DLSS upscaling technology, rendering the game at a lower resolution and then upscaling it, in order to achieve the target framerates. It looks to be working wonders!
Everything from the lighting to the textures, to the sharpness of the image has to be seen to be believed. It’s an indication that the Nintendo Switch 2 will indeed be far more capable of meeting the demands of more cross-platform, third-party games. It could indeed be the best way to play Cyberpunk 2077 going forward.
