Nintendo Today has once again today focused on Nintendo Switch 2 specific UI features and revealed a few little tidbits from the Nintendo Switch 2 settings.
The first is a new maximum charging setting which will stop the Switch 2 charging beyond 90% in order to reduce deterioration to the battery. This is something that people will be able to turn off and on (it’s unclear which it will be by default), and is commonly used by electronic devices to prolong the life of a battery.
“The Nintendo Switch 2 system stops charging when it reaches about 90% remaining battery. Pausing the charge at around 90% reduces deterioration to the battery. If “Stop Charging Around 90%” is turned on, the charging speed will slow down around 90%.” says Nintendo.
Interestingly enough, we get a look at the settings within the video which has revealed that the Switch 2 will feature a PIN to unlock screen for those that want protection. This has been a feature on other Nintendo consoles but was missing on the original Nintendo Switch.
It’ll be interesting to see what other tidbits we get in the lead-up to launch on June 5th.
