To celebrate the launch of Alan Wake 2’s Deluxe Edition (and the Lakehouse DLC), Remedy has also detailed how the game will run on PS5 Pro with a huge amount of improvements detailed and the first footage of the game running on PS5 Pro too. 6r3l54
This is really the first hugely detailed feature list that we’ve had for a PS5 Pro version of a game, and Remedy goes into a huge amount of detail over on its blog HERE.
The game will have two modes, a quality mode which will bring ray-traced reflections to the game (for the first time on consoles) using Sony’s PSSR AI upscaling whilst running at 30FPS.
The performance mode will feature similar visuals to the base PS5’s fidelity mode, but will now run at 60FPS at a higher resolution.
Remedy goes on to say that it wanted to retain its same 30/60FPS modes on PS5 Pro but improving both of them. It’s been well documented how hard Alan Wake 2 is to run on PCs, so clearly there have been some limitations on PS5 Pro as well.
“Alan Wake 2 did not feature ray tracing on PlayStation 5, but with the Pro’s improved ray tracing features and additional power, we could bring ray tracing to Alan Wake 2’s Quality Mode on the Pro enabling ray traced reflections on opaque and transparent surfaces.” said Remedy.
The PS5 Pro will release on November 7th. It’s currently available for pre-order on Amazon HERE
