Embrace it.

PLAION, the global publisher of games like the recent Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, the new AAA superhero title from Skydance Games and led by Uncharted creative director, Amy Hennig.

The game, which is targeting a 2025 release, is set to be a single-player action adventure starring four lead heroes including Black Panther (played by Khary Payton), Captain America (played by Drew Moerlein), Nanali (played by Megalyn Echikunwoke) and Gabriel Jones (played by Marque Richardson).

“We are proud to partner with Skydance Games and industry legend Amy Hennig on what is one of the most anticipated AAA games currently in development,” writes PLAION CEO, Klemens Kundratitz, in the accompanying press release. “This partnership between two ambitious independent companies is a testament to PLAION’s ongoing mission to become a global force in videogame publishing.”

“We believe PLAION is the perfect publishing partner for the multiplatform, worldwide release of MARVEL 1943: Rise of Hydra” adds Julian Beak, co-president at Skydance Games. “For our studio’s debut title, we’re crafting an original Marvel story directed by Amy Hennig. We’re thrilled to have found a global publisher that shares our ambitious vision for the project.”

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was fully unveiled back in March this year with a gorgeous, in-engine trailer, though we’re yet to catch a glimpse of how it looks or plays in-game. The initial Story Trailer can be seen below:

It’s potentially exciting news for the studio’s plans for the game, though PLAION’s parent company, Embracer Group, hasn’t exactly enjoyed the best reputation in recent months and years as one of the biggest proponents of the waves of mass layoffs still wracking the industry.
