The Mortal Kombat Movie Remake Is Being Shot In Adelaide Of All Places

Here’s a shocker.

A remake of the Mortal Kombat movie (which happens to be my favourite video game movie of all time) is in the works, and it’s being shot in Adelaide of all places.

The Premier of South Australia, Steven Marshall today announced that the Adelaide Studios in Glenside will be used by New Line Cinema, creating around 580 jobs and requiring about 1,500 local extras. It’s set to provide a $70 million dollar boost to the local economy.

The film is set to be some time away, with the movie only entering pre-production this month. A cast hasn’t yet been revealed.
