A Civilization VII Gameplay Showcase Is Coming After Gamescom Opening Night Live

Here's when you can catch it!

Firaxis has announced a heap of activities around its big sequel, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, this month around gamescom 2024.

As previously promised, the studio is gearing up to show the first gameplay of Civ 7 since it was announced during Summer Game Fest in June, and it’ll be doing so via a 20-minute gameplay showcase on its official Twitch channel on August 21st. The full showcase will follow a smaller look during Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live event.

“Civilization is a game that is as wide as it is deep, covering the span of human history as you build your empire piece by piece in the attempt to stand the test of time,” the studio writes in a press release. “We know many of you love getting into the details, and we do too – that’s why we’re going all-out for the gameplay reveal coming later this month.”

The gamescom Opening Night Live hosted by Keighley and Eefje Depoortere will air on August 21st at the below local times, which is when you’ll be able to see the debut gameplay trailer for Civ 7:

  • 3.30 AM ACST (Adelaide, Darwin)
  • 2.00 AM AWST (Perth)
  • 6.00 AM NZDT (Wellington)

And you’ll be able to catch it on the official gamescom website, as well as YouTube and Twitch.
